WCMMA 4 was back at the Troxy and provided yet another awesome night of mixed martial arts. The card had it all, Including an epic Main Event scrap between Ian “The Machine” Freeman and Andy Geer.

 Here we give you a run down of all the nights action as it happened!

1) Macello Gentile Vs Ben Corcoran @ BW

Round 1:

Great cheers for the guys up first. the fight goes straight to ground, standing guillotine attempt, flurry against the cage. Gentile in control, the round finishes out in clinch.

Round 2:

Gentile takes the centre quickly, throws a flurry of punches and drops for the takedown, he pulls it off getting Corcoran to his back, but Gentile has left his head in there and Corcoran capitalises with guillotine choke forcing out the tap from Gentile

2) Dinesh Deusali Vs Chris Butler @ BW

Round 1:

Both men came forward and wasted no time, trading blows & landing some good shots. Butler landed a couple of nice head kicks early and followed with a takedown.

Butler left his head in after the takedown and Deusali reacted quickly to work and secure the guillotine.

3) Dan Pye Vs Mo Iasladj @ FW

Round 1:

Iasladj shoots straight in for the double leg takedown and gets it, Iasladj left his head in for guillotine. Pye squeezing for it, doesn’t get it as they work their way up the cage to their feet. Iasladj goes back for the double leg and gets a big slam back down to the mat, looks like an injury and the ref steps in.

4) Jason Grimland Vs PK Zadeh @ LW

Round 1:

Zadeh secured a takedown early on, worked the ground and pound and eventually moved into side control. Zadeh pinned Grimlands arm with his knee and continued the GnP. Zadeh Finished up the round on top.

Round 2:

Again PK got the takedown early, worked his GnP, transitioned to side control then into full mount. PK finished up the round in control and in top position.

Round 3:

Another early takedown from PK. Again he passed into side control,to north south and back to side control. All the while working his ground and pound. PK went for the arm triangle from the side and nearly had it secured, but Grimland was saved by the bell. Another dominant round by PK.

5) Perry Johns Vs Freddy Allen @ LW

Round one:

No glove touch and Allen gets us started with some heavy punches, they go to the mat with Allen cranking for the guillotine. Johns rolls him over into guard, and they work their way back up to the feet. Johns goes for the double leg, picks up Allen runs across the cage (fireman carry style) and lands huge huge slam.Johns leaves his head inside and Allen works for the guillotine to see the round out.

Round Two:

Both fighters exchange, Allen attempts standing guillotine. they crash to the matt with a bit of a scramble, Johns now in side control, working back to the feet. Allen pulls foot out and trips but Johns ends up on top, leaving his head in a position for Allen to crank and it’s all over.

6) Mark Keggy Vs Aaron Tongue @ FW

Round 1:

Mark Keggy came out swinging with a flurry of big punches, rocking tongue in the process.It almost looked like Tongue was out! They clinched up and Tongue managed to get Keggy’s back, pulled out a nice slam and wasted no time sinking in a rear naked choke.

7) Sam Story Vs Curtis Widmer @ HW

Round 1:

Widmer off first and throws a soft distancing jab then opens up with a heavy flurry of punches spinning story round before landing the finishing blows and just like that it’s all over.

8) Mike Wells Vs James Ray @ WW

Round 1:

James Ray started off throwing and landing some big punches, backing Wells up and then dropped him with a big knee to the body. Ray got straight down into full mount utilising ground and pound then took the back of Wells. Great work from Wells soon after as he bucked Ray off and gained mount for himself. Wells then dominated, peppering Ray with big shots from the top. Ref had seen enough & called it a day!

9) Aaron Mckearney Vs Michael Shipman @ LHW

Round 1:

Both fighters looking pumped for this one. Shipman straight in with the double leg and lands on top to work some GnP. now back on their feet Shipman follows up with a big left followed by huge knees to the body, another huge left and its over. a few more to seal the deal and Jamaine Facey steps in and calls it.

10) Rustam Kokoyev Vs Bernard Amofa @ WW

Round 1:

Bernard got the takedown early.Transitioned straight into side control and worked some nice ground and pound.Bernard continued working from the top and finished up the round in Rustam’s guard.

Round 2:

Bernard got Rustam down early again Via a big slam. Bernard got quickly back to his feet and had Rustam stood up.Both men then found themselves in a clinch battle against the cage. Bernard secured a lovely trip and finished up the round in top position.

Round 3:

Rustam started off this round throwing a couple of nice jabs but bernard wasted no time securing the take down and moved straight into side control. Both men tried to work but Rustam ended up back on his feet and secured a takedown of his own. Again both men found themselves back up and again in a clinch against the cage. Both men tussled for position but it was Bernard who managed to land some big knees to the body.Nice back a forth round.

11) Harry Potter Vs Kieran Moore @ 73kg

Round 1:

Potter straight in for the takedown but leaves his head in and Moore locks on a very quick guillotine WOW.

12) Craig Champ Vs Calvin Petrie @ LHW

Round 1: Both men came forward and straight into the clinch.Petrie landed some lovely knees to the body. The guys separated and Calvin landed a couple of big shots followed by a barrage of unanswered punches, leading to the TKO finish.

An interval now, and Dave calls in Bostwick and Facey for a chat. Both men very respectful towards each other. This is going to be a great fight on May 26th.

Tony Giles steps in for a quick chat with Dave and Harry. Charlie Langdon is announced as Tony Giles next opponent & Tony, as ever, seems very confident.

A game of Ultimate Ball follows, Entertaining stuff as Team Gypsy win 7-2.

13) Michael Wuycal Vs Andy Jardine @ HW

Round 1:

Opens with a flurry of body shots from Jardine, both fighters swinging. Wuycal gets some clinch work done before they separate and Wuycal throws in some big knees. huge right from Jardine rocks Wuycal, Jardine throws a couple inside leg kicks before a huge right. Jardine is now picking his shots nicely, good exchanges from both men to see the round out.

Round 2:

Jardine throws the first jabs of the round, michael answers with knees. Jardine connects with big left that knocks Wuycal down but he pops back up, Jardine being patient with his shots now as both are throwing with intention. nice mid section spin kick from Jardine lands, another big spin kick from Jardine hurts Wuycal before we see the round out.

Round 3:

Jardine open with big leg kick and both start to trade. Jardine goes up high with a head kick that lands flush. Wuycal comes back and forces Jardine backwards with huge punches and a knee that connects to the head, Jardine in trouble here. Wuycal now throwing some huge shots, they are going jab for jab, ends with a huge leg kick from Wuycal and the bell rings.

WHAT A WAR – hard to call this one.

14) Jordan French Vs Tanat Tiraposin @ LW

Round 1:

French started off with a big takedown early, straight into half guard and worked his ground and pound. French landed some heavy punches and totally dominated the First round from the top.

Round 2:

Another early takedown from French, followed by attempts to work his ground and pound from guard. Another dominant round for French but not as convincing as the first.

Round 3:

Tanat started strong throwing a couple of nice head kicks. Both men engaged in a clinch battle against the cage and traded a few punches, followed by a single leg takedown from Tanat leaving him in French’s guard. A Great cage walk from French next, as he reversed his position and finished up the round on top dropping big elbows.

15) Rocky Thomas Vs Lee Durrant @ 88kg

Respect due for Thomas who takes the bout on one days notice.

Round 1:

Big punches from Durrant early into the clinch, knees from Durrant and huge punches before a big throw from Durrant sending Thomas to the ground…… UK1? On his feet Thomas throws a spinning kick, they clinch and the ref separates them, Durrant the aggressor here and finishes the round with an uppercut to Thomas.

Round 2:

Durrant chucks a left jab to open, Thomas swinging a few misses, nice clinch knee from Durrant, working clinch followed by left jab and uppercut combo, heavy landing clinch knee from Durrant puts Thomas down, once back up Thomas gets caught with two big rights which puts him down again and the ref steps in for the count, Durrat is picking his shots well now leaving Thomas in all sorts of trouble to close out the round, Thomas looking wobbly.

Round 3:

Durrant finding a home with the left jab over and over again, an accidental low blow from Thomas calls for a time out, right hand from Thomas is answered with a knee, a knee trips and drops Thomas again, Durrant just peppers Thomas with shots for the rest of the round.

Great heart show by Thomas but its got to go to Dunnant.

During his interview Thomas gets the biggest cheer of the night so far.

16) Jason Hart Vs Emrah Sonnez @ LW

Round 1:

Hart came out strong with a flurry of big punches. Both men landed nice head kicks followed by a spinning back fist from Hart. Hart continued to land some big shots but Sonnez got the takedown straight into side control. Hart worked hard to get back up landing a big right hand in the process. Emrah answered with a combo of his own just before the bell.

Round 2:

Second round began with Hart throwing a nice combination but ended up in the clinch and with sonnez getting the takedown. Sonnez worked his position well, posturing up and landing some good strikes from the top.

Round 3:

Sonnez started this round the aggresor with a nice combo and headkicks early on. Sonnez secured the trip and ended up straight into full mount. Hart worked his way back up again only to be tripped again by Sonnez. Sonnez took Harts back and finished up the round landing some nice hammer fists.

Great back and forth fight. Impressive stuff from both guys.

17) Matt Peters Vs Nathan Rose @ FW

Round 1:

Peters opens with two early head kicks, both fighters exchanging leg kicks, huge slam from Peters into side control, lots of body work from Peters with some big knees, back up, a huge leg kick from Rose drops Peters and its now Rose in side control, back to the feet, Peters scrambles to take Rose down to see the round out.

Round 2:

Rose come outs with kicks and uppercut combos ,both tied up with Rose working the knees connecting with a big one to the head, they separate and a huge flying knee drops Peters, Peters goes for the take down but Rose ends up on top, and sees out the round. Very explosive round from Rose.

Round 3:

Peters misses on a superman punch and ends up on his back, Rose starts raining down shots on Peters from a standing position, Peters gets the single and ends up in side control, both tied on ground with Rose trying hard for the reversal, Peters goes for the guillotine choke late in the round and nearly sunk it but the bell rings and its over.

18) Scott Neal Vs Ben Barlow @ HW

Round 1:

Barlow got the takedown early in this bout & straight into Neal’s guard. Barlow proceeded to land some big punches to the head and body of Neal. The fight was then stopped as Barlow loomed over Neal dropping a lot of big, unanswered shots.

19) Andy Geer Vs Ian “The Machine” Freeman @ HW UK1

The main event is here and the crowd are excited for this clash of veterans. both guys fighting with a lot of heart for a great cause so let’s see how it panned out.

Round 1:

Freeman with some early leg kicks, big shots from Freeman, and Greer landing few of his own. heavy body kick lands from freeman, Freeman beats Greer down with punches and the ref steps in to counts him. Freeman working the leg kicks very well in the opening round, Knees from the clinch drop Greer against the cage, ref steps in again. superman punch from Freeman knocks Greer back and Freeman follows up with some big big shots, Greer is finally saved by the bell.

Round 2:

Freeman comes out swinging big and lands a couple of hard hits. Greer showing great heart while Freeman is picking his shots. Greer starting to look tired now as Freeman continues to pick him apart, knee to the head of Greer from the clinch, Greer is holding on the best he can until the round is over.

Round 3:

Last round, Freeman now really turning it on and peppering Greer. he’s throwing with intent!!! Freeman absolutely picking Greer apart and it’s turning into a beating, what is Greer made of?!? accidental low blow by Greer, ref steps in to give Freeman some time to recover.They restart and Freeman smashes Greer hard and drops him yet again, ref counts him as the round bell sounds, its all over!!

Freeman looked like a beast in there and looked in great shape in what turned into a pretty one sided bout but Greer showed tremendous heart in all three rounds and all for a great cause so big props to both guys.
